Purgatory became the first and still only radio outlet of it's kind in Missouri. For over two and a half years now, the show has taken it's ever-expanding listener base on a journey through strange and dark musics to another level of listening. Since Purgatory's inception, the Columbia goth/industrial crowd has bloomed. Weekly goth nights in the basement of a local cafe gave way to Goth Night every Friday night at Shattered, Goth/Fetish/?? Night every Thursday at Down Under Bar, fetish nights, and increased shows with local bands Odor of Pears, Babylon Hor, Soda Ash, and nationally touring bands. More is in the works.
Now Purgatory has taken a new
twist.
Long-time dj's Glenn K! and Amy Perry have formally stepped down. Taking
the center stage for Purgatory's transmission is Darren Weihe. Gone
now are The Deaths of the Week, which previously aired every Tuesday at
midnight,
highlighting recent and historical passings of famous and infamous people,
and those that are just too damn funny to pass up. Darren now brings his
own tastes and concepts to the masses.
